About Lakmin
Diving is better when the person planning it understands the diver.

This Is Personal.
Dive Sri Lanka with Lakmin was built around a simple idea: good diving shouldn't be a commodity.
The interest goes beyond simply collecting dive sites. It is about understanding wrecks, conditions, logistics and, most importantly, the diver who is going into the water.
Over time, that interest has naturally moved towards wreck diving, deeper profiles and technical diving. But the philosophy remains the same at every depth:
Understand the diver. Understand the site. Understand the conditions. Then make the dive.
Every Dive Starts Before You Enter the Water.
Certification tells us something. Experience tells us considerably more. A diver's logged dives, recent experience, comfort with depth, equipment configuration and objectives all matter when deciding which experience is appropriate.
Conditions matter just as much. The best dive on paper isn't necessarily the best dive on the day. That's why planning remains flexible until the diver, the site and the conditions all line up.
Access Beyond the Recreational Map.
Established relationships within Sri Lanka's Navy diving community have already provided opportunities to conduct dives within Navy-controlled areas that sit outside the normal recreational diving circuit.
Those experiences have also opened discussions around deeper and relatively unexplored maritime sites. This is an evolving programme.
Access is dependent on appropriate permissions, diver qualifications, experience, operational considerations and conditions. We would rather develop these opportunities properly than promise access before it is ready.
Some sites are worth waiting for.
No Need to Prove Anything Underwater.
Good diving isn't about impressing the boat. It isn't about going deeper because someone else did. And it certainly isn't about pushing a diver beyond their training simply because an interesting wreck exists.
The best dives are controlled dives. The objective is to come back with the experience you came for, and want to do the next one.
